Church of Our Lady of the Assumption
The church of Our Lady of the Assumption, in Italian ˈChiesa della Madonna Assuntaˈ is located at Le Forna, built in 1772 by settlers from Torre del Greco. The religious building has inside three naves which houses ancient works of art, among which the eighteenth-century organ, and a painting of the Assumption, whose discovery is shrouded in mystery. An ancient folk tradition tells, in fact, that it was brought to light on the rock of the Turtle, at the Bay of Cala Cantina and as a result of the miraculous discovery, the Church was built.
